A day after a daring daylight robbery in Bidar where miscreants shot and looted Rs 93 lakh, another heist shook Mangaluru. Armed robbers struck a cooperative society bank near Ullal this afternoon.
Arriving in a Fiat car, a group of 5-6 men stormed the bank on KC Road, threatened the staff at gunpoint, and fled with cash and gold jewelry, stuffing them into two bags before escaping in their vehicle.
Upon receiving the news, Ullal police inspected the crime scene. The exact amount of cash and gold stolen is yet to be confirmed.
Mangaluru police have launched a citywide manhunt, setting up checkpoints to track down the culprits. The robbers, reportedly aged between 20-30, were heard conversing in Hindi, according to initial reports.
