Annamalai Whips Himself: Gets Mixed Response

BJP Tamil Nadu president K. Annamalai staged a dramatic protest outside his residence in Coimbatore, whipping himself to express outrage over the state government and police's alleged apathy in handling the sexual assault case of an Anna University student.

Annamalai’s act of self-flagellation was intended to highlight what he described as the Tamil Nadu government’s failure to provide justice and ensure the safety of students.

Speaking to reporters, he criticized the administration for its "lack of urgency and sensitivity" in addressing the issue, demanding swift action against the perpetrators and measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

The protest drew attention but received mixed response. While some lauded him for his emotional quotient, others called it ridiculous as it carried more drama than a practical approach.
