Amit Shah Predicts End of Left-Wing Extremism by 2026

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a special meeting today with Chief Ministers of states affected by Naxalite activities. During the review meeting with representatives from eight states, Shah declared that left-wing extremism is in its final phase, and India will be free from this issue by March 2026.

He highlighted that for the first time in 30 years, the number of deaths caused by Maoist violence has fallen below 100, marking a significant achievement.

In the last decade, nearly 13,000 left-wing extremists have surrendered and joined mainstream society. Shah urged the remaining Maoist youth to lay down their arms and take advantage of the rehabilitation schemes offered by the government. He emphasized that Naxal violence has never helped anyone and will not benefit anyone in the future.

Shah also mentioned that currently, 80% of the Naxalite cadre is concentrated in Chhattisgarh, and the final phase of the fight against left-wing extremism is approaching.
