Amit Shah Calls All State CMs... Key Directives

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to all state Chief Ministers (CMs) over the phone and issued crucial directives. He instructed them to identify Pakistani nationals and deport them promptly.

The Centre has already cancelled visas for Pakistani citizens. In this context, on Friday, Shah held telephonic discussions with CMs across the country, directing them to identify and deport all Pakistani nationals residing in their states. Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, police conducted extensive checks and identified 208 Pakistani nationals in the city. Authorities collected their details and ordered them to leave India within two days.

In retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack, India on Thursday announced the immediate suspension of visa services for Pakistanis. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that all visas issued to Pakistani nationals will stand cancelled from April 27. However, medical visas will remain valid only until April 29. The Centre has directed all Pakistani nationals in India to exit before their visa expiry. Additionally, the government has urged Indian citizens in Pakistan to return home at the earliest.
