As discussions continue about a potential alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress for the Haryana Assembly elections AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak has heightened the political climate by asserting that AAP is ready to contest independently if needed.
Pathak stated that the party is prepared to fight all 90 seats with full force and will announce their strategy once the high command approves. Meanwhile Congress has already named 31 candidates. Reports suggest that the alliance talks are stalling due to disagreements over seat-sharing. AAP is willing to lower its seat demand but still seeks more than Congress is offering.
National spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar confirmed that discussions are ongoing and AAP is gearing up to announce their candidates soon.
Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha remains hopeful for an alliance emphasizing the need for unity in the national and state interest. Haryana's election is set for October 5 with results announced on October 8.
