Former AAP leader Ashutosh declared that the party had been "finished" long ago, with the 2025 Delhi election defeat merely confirming it. He criticized AAP’s leadership for abandoning its revolutionary values, warning that it might also lose Punjab. He blamed extravagance, including luxury travel and lavish accommodations, for the party’s downfall.
Ashutosh, a former journalist and AAP member, pointed to the party's moral decline, security privileges, and controversial allegations against Haryana. He claimed AAP had shifted focus from reform to power retention, leading to its electoral collapse. Expelled AAP co-founder Prashant Bhushan also held Arvind Kejriwal responsible, accusing him of discarding expert recommendations and relying on propaganda.
Both critics argued that AAP’s leadership choices, including Kejriwal’s alleged lavish lifestyle, eroded public trust. With major leaders defeated, AAP faces an uncertain future, struggling to maintain its relevance in Indian politics.
