A tragic incident occurred in Chhanna Gulab Singh Wala, Punjab, where 26-year-old Sukhjit Singh, the Aam Aadmi Party sarpanch, was murdered. On Monday, a group of 50-60 people attacked Singh and two others with sharp weapons, leaving them seriously injured.
While being taken to the hospital, Singh died from his injuries, and the other two victims are receiving treatment.
Singh had been actively combating the drug menace in the region, which is believed to have led to the deadly attack due to a rivalry.
His family and villagers have accused certain individuals in the village of being behind the assault, citing long-standing personal enmity linked to the sarpanch elections. The murder has shocked the community, highlighting the intense local conflicts surrounding politics and social issues.
