The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its first list of 11 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Notably, six of these candidates recently joined AAP from other parties, including Congress and BJP. These leaders were inducted into the party by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal himself. Among them, two were former BJP legislators. Here is a breakdown of the candidates:
Brahma Singh Tanwar (Chhatarpur): A former senior BJP leader and three-time MLA, Brahma Singh Tanwar joined AAP on October 31 in the presence of Arvind Kejriwal.
Anil Jha (Kirrari): Former BJP leader and two-time MLA Anil Jha joined AAP on November 17. Kejriwal welcomed him as one of the biggest leaders from the Eastern region.
Deepak Singhla (Vishwas Nagar): Another AAP candidate for this election.
Sarita Singh (Rohtas Nagar): Sarita Singh will represent AAP in this constituency.
BB Tyagi (Laxmi Nagar): A former BJP leader and two-time municipal councillor, BB Tyagi joined AAP on November 4, marking a significant blow to BJP in Delhi.
Ram Singh (Netaji) (Badarpur): He is another candidate for AAP from this constituency.
Zubair Chaudhary (Seelampur): Zubair will contest from Seelampur as an AAP candidate.
Veer Singh Dhingan (Seemapuri): Dhingan will represent AAP from this constituency.
Gaurav Sharma (Ghonda): Gaurav Sharma has been announced as AAP's candidate from Ghonda.
Manoj Tyagi (Karawal Nagar): Manoj Tyagi is the candidate for AAP from Karawal Nagar.
Sumesh Shokeen (Matiala): Sumesh Shokeen will contest from Matiala on behalf of AAP.
These candidates reflect AAP's strategy to attract prominent leaders from other parties, particularly BJP, as it prepares for the Delhi elections.
