The death toll from the consumption of illicit liquor in Bihar has risen to 20. The incident occurred in the Saran and Siwan districts, where several people fell seriously ill after drinking the toxic alcohol on Tuesday night.
The victims were rushed to local hospitals, and by Wednesday, six deaths were confirmed. However, Siwan SP Amitesh Kumar has now reported that the death toll has increased to 20.
Authorities have taken legal action against the SHO of Bhagwanpur police station and the Prohibition ASI. Meanwhile, many other victims are receiving treatment in hospitals. It is reported that over 73 people consumed the tainted liquor.
