13th Historic Kumbh Mela Begins in Karnataka

The 13th historic Kumbh Mela has commenced in Karnataka at the Triveni Sangam in T. Narasipura, Mysuru district, where the Kaveri, Kapila, and Spatika Sarovara rivers converge. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar participated in the event and performed ritual baths. Thousands of devotees and saints from across the state and other regions have gathered for the grand occasion.

Speaking at the event, Deputy CM Shivakumar urged devotees to attend the Kumbh Mela in Karnataka instead of traveling to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh.

"Just as divinity and purity have been attributed to the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati at Prayagraj, our scriptures also highlight the equal significance of the Kaveri River. Instead of facing the overwhelming crowds and difficulties at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, we invite you to visit T. Narasipura’s Triveni Sangam, known as the Prayagraj of South India. Perform your holy baths here. We have made extensive arrangements to ensure a secure and comfortable experience for devotees," he stated.
