10 Crore Devotees Expected at Kumbh Mela

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has estimated that around 8-10 crore devotees are likely to visit the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Mela on Amavasya (New Moon Day), falling on January 29. He has directed officials to make extensive arrangements to accommodate the massive influx of pilgrims.

The CM emphasized the importance of ensuring robust barricades near ghats, uninterrupted 24-hour electricity and water supply, and top-notch security measures. Adityanath highlighted that Amavasya is considered highly auspicious, and a large number of devotees will throng the venue for the sacred bath (Punya Snan).

The authorities have been instructed to stay vigilant and ensure the smooth execution of the event to handle the anticipated surge in crowd effectively.
