Will Nadda go the Advani way?

Will Nadda go the Advani way?

The BJP owes everything to LK Advani, the man who single-handedly made the Party, a national name after his Rath Yatra that was eventually instrumental in the demolition of the Babri Masjid. His hardliner image gave him the sobriquet of ‘Loh Purush’ or ‘Iron Man’.

Yet, in 2005, on a visit to Pakistan, LK Advani in order to shed his tag of a hardliner which could prevent his Prime Ministerial aspirations, praised Mohammad Ali Jinnah and called him a ‘secular’ person.

Naturally, the Sangh Parivar was furious and seven months later, Advani was forced to resign from key positions in the Party that paved the way for the emergence of Narendra Modi. It put an end to his Prime Ministerial aspirations, once and for all.

Today, JP Nadda has gone a step further and said the RSS itself was expendable. Naturally, no action will be taken against him until the elections are over.

But Nadda has the backing of Modi and Shah and assuming the BJP comes back to power with a majority, will the Modi-Shah duo protect Nadda or will the RSS ask for its ‘pound of flesh’?

Till now, the BJP has looked invincible with no Opposition seeming to be capable enough to stop them.

This great Party can only be destroyed from within and the repercussions of Nadda’s statement will only be known after the election results.
