Split in the Maha-Yuti Alliance

Maharashtra politics have become intriguing lately. There has been growing speculation that cracks are emerging within the Maha-Yuti alliance, led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Reports suggest that differences have surfaced between the main party in the coalition, the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena, and the BJP.

It is said that a covert war is ongoing between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. In this context, the recent decision by the state’s Home Department has caused a stir.

The Home Department, which is currently under CM Fadnavis, has withdrawn VIP security from several Shiv Sena MLAs belonging to the Shinde faction. The Home Department has removed Y-category security from 20 Shiv Sena MLAs associated with Shinde. Additionally, security provided to MLAs from the BJP and Ajit Pawar factions has also been reduced.

However, the number of affected MLAs from the Shinde faction is comparatively higher. Government sources claim that these actions were taken as part of efforts to curb the misuse of state resources. This move has become a hot topic in the state.
