Narendra Modi To Contest From Tamilnadu?

L Murugan from Tamil Nadu has been given a seat by the BJP for the second time as a Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh.

L Murugan, who secured a Rajya Sabha seat commensurate with the party's national president, Jagat Prakash Nadda, is the Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy at the Centre.

Previously, he held the position of Minister of Information and Broadcasting and also served as the state president of the BJP. He is proficient in Telugu as well.

Notably, there is no other leader in Modi's cabinet who faces 21 criminal cases like him. His specialization lies in representing Arunthathiyar, one of the most marginalized communities in Tamilnadu. No member from this caste held a position in the central cabinet after independence.

Apart from appointing him as Union Minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again garnered favor from Dalit sub-castes by nominating him for the Rajya Sabha for the second time.

There are also speculations that Modi may contest from Tamil Nadu this time.
