The Telugu Desam Party and the Janasena Party, both ardent opponents of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh, have now aligned with the NDA, led by the BJP.
During their campaign in the state, both Narendra Modi and Amit Shah have been campaigning against the YSRCP.
Recently, Shah mentioned during a tour that they aim to restore the pride of the Telugu language, which they claim was undermined during YSRCP's governance.
Jagan Mohan Reddy's decision to introduce English as the medium of instruction in government schools, alongside private institutions, received support, especially from underprivileged families, who could now access quality English education for their children without fees.
However, Shah's statement caused a stir, with YSRCP supporters interpreting it as a signal that if Chandrababu's NDA government gains power, they would revert to Telugu medium instruction.
This inadvertently helped YS Jagan Mohan Reddy by alerting voters to potential changes under a different government, possibly boosting support for YSRCP.
Thus Amit Shah's statement helped YS Jagan's YSRCP, which implies it as an unintentional but indirect campaign in favor of opponent.
