Bollywood celebrities like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, and Janhvi Kapoor praised the show, while Anurag Kashyap criticized Netflix India for possibly rejecting such a creative script. He highlighted the growing reluctance among Indian studios to fund original, risk-taking content.

Actor Emraan Hashmi echoed these concerns, commenting on Bollywood's lack of risk-taking ability. He emphasized how Adolescence, with its risky premise of four episodes shot in one take, would likely be rejected by most Indian producers. The logistical challenges and high production risks make such projects a tough sell in an industry known for its safe, formulaic approach.

Emraan further criticized the industry’s trend of sticking to rehashed ideas, which stifles creativity. He praised the makers of Animal for their bold vision and stressed the need for trendsetters rather than followers in filmmaking.
