Stan Sebastian is receiving acclaim for his role as Donald Trump in The Apprentice, directed by Ali Abbasi. During THR Actors Roundtable, Sebastian revealed that the director initially considered casting a woman as Trump.
To prepare for the role, Stan quickly gained weight by consuming ramen and Coca-Cola, though it affected his health, raising his cholesterol and causing panic attacks. He shared how a failed prosthetic test left him scrambling to physically embody Trump.
Stan also recounted a humorous moment when he and Abbasi secretly filmed at Trump Tower. While there, someone recognized him—not as Trump, but as “that Marvel guy,” referencing his role as Bucky Barnes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Set in the 1970s and 1980s, The Apprentice explores Trump’s early career as a New York real estate tycoon. While released in the US, its India release faced delays due to censorship concerns, sparking criticism from Abbasi.
