Senior playback singer Alka Yagnik recently spoke about the remixed version of her song 'Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai....' used in the movie 'Crew'.
She mentioned the trend of adding rap to songs but didn't mind it much since her voice remained in the song. She simply acknowledged the song's popularity stating that it's very famous.
She expressed her views on the remix, saying, "What can I say about it? And that song is very popular. It used to be played a lot before, and it still is. I said it's okay, it's our song, our voice is in the remix, let it play, it's good! It is a hit song... adding rap or whatever... it's okay. This is the current era, this is how it goes, this is the trend."
Regarding rap songs in general...she mentioned that composers aren't doing anything new but just changing the rhythm and adding rap in between.
She expressed discomfort when classic songs of legends like Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle are remixed as those songs are considered masterpieces and shouldn't be altered.
On a whole it is understood that as long as senior singers are involved in the remix songs, they don't usually complain about them.
