Originally slated for release in 2013, the film faced repeated delays for nearly a decade. Both the actor and the audience seemed to have forgotten about it after years of postponements. However, against all odds, the film finally hit the screens during the Pongal season in Tamil Nadu and emerged as a surprise hit.
Directed by C. Sundar, and starring Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Anjali alongside Vishal, the movie has become a box office sensation. Its release coincided with the festive Pongal season, and with Ajith's movie being delayed, the audience flocked to theaters, giving the film a massive boost.
