Twinkle Khanna, married to actor Akshay Kumar, shares two children, Aarav and Nitara. In a recent discussion with FICCI FLO, she opened up about raising her children and addressing societal comparisons, particularly regarding skin tone. Twinkle explained that her daughter Nitara often faced comparisons with her brother, Aarav, which inspired her to teach Nitara self-acceptance and confidence.

Twinkle encouraged Nitara to embrace her unique features, likening her unibrow to Frida Kahlo's and calling her brown skin "golden." This positive reinforcement bore fruit when, during a beach outing, Nitara confidently remarked that her skin was "greater" because it required less sunblock and compared it to a brown T-shirt that doesn’t show dirt, unlike a white one.

Twinkle reflected on this as a proud parenting moment, highlighting her effort to instill self-love in her children while combating cultural biases. She and Akshay have been married since 2001, raising Aarav and Nitara together.
