Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumar Modi has responded to former cast member Palak Sindhwani’s claims of mental harassment and non-payment. Sindhwani, who played Sonu, left the show amid accusations of breaching her exclusivity contract.
In an interview, Modi expressed hurt over her allegations, describing Palak as a “daughter” and emphasizing his familial bond with all actors on the show. He stressed his commitment to fostering positivity and denied holding grudges against anyone.
Modi revealed the allegations are being addressed legally and maintained that the show’s set environment is disciplined, not hostile. He questioned why Palak did not voice concerns while part of the team, noting issues could have been resolved earlier.
Concluding, Modi said such claims are upsetting after years of close collaboration, highlighting the family-like relationships built over the show’s long run.
