Titanic And Avatar Producer Passes Away

Renowned Oscar winning film producer Jon Landau passed away at 63 in Los Angeles after a 16 month battle with cancer. 

Known for his collaborations with director James Cameron on blockbusters like Titanic (1997) and Avatar (2009) his death was confirmed by his son. 

Landau is survived by his wife Julie, their sons Jamie and Jodie and his three siblings Tina, Kathy and Les.

Tributes poured in from the industry, with James Cameron expressing profound loss, describing Landau as his closest collaborator of 31 years. 

Cameron highlighted Landau's humor, generosity and dedication to filmmaking noting his unique ability to inspire and bring out the best in everyone. 

Actress Kate Winslet remembered him as the kindest and best of men emphasizing his compassion and support for creative teams. 

Alan Bergman of Disney praised Landau as a visionary whose work left a lasting impact on the film industry. 

He extended heartfelt condolences to Landau's family acknowledging his immense talent and the inspiration he provided to those around him.
