The Question That Stopped Earning Rs 7 Cr

Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 celebrated its first crorepati, Chander Parkash, from Jammu and Kashmir, who is preparing for the UPSC exam. During the show, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, Chander faced the jackpot question worth Rs 7 crore. 

The question asked, “Who was the first recorded child born to English parents in North America in 1587?” The options were Virginia Dare, Virginia Hall, Virginia Coffey and Virginia Sink with Virginia Dare being the correct answer.

Chander was unsure and had already used all three lifelines, so he chose to leave the game, thanking Bachchan for his support. When asked to guess the answer, Chander correctly guessed Virginia Dare but clarified that it was just a guess.

Chander expressed his intention to use his Rs 1 crore prize money to help his parents, who have supported him through tough times especially after his medical surgeries. The Rs 1 crore question was about the largest city with an Arabic name with Tanzania being the correct answer.
