Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor has revealed an interesting reason behind her decision to cut down on intimate scenes in films. Once known for her bold and glamorous image, Bebo later took a step back from performing such scenes. Now, she has finally addressed the topic.
"I don’t believe that sex is the only crucial element to drive a story forward. That doesn’t mean I am against doing such scenes either. If intimacy is shown in a film, it should be a natural part of the storytelling process," Kareena explained.
She further added that despite putting in a lot of effort and performing such scenes sincerely, Indian audiences often interpret them differently. "Unlike Western countries, Indian society is still not as open about sex. Even if actors perform an intimate scene with full dedication, many viewers in India perceive it differently compared to audiences in the West."
Kareena also pointed out the cultural differences, stating, "In some Western countries, women's desires are openly acknowledged and depicted on-screen without hesitation. However, in India, we are yet to reach that level of openness."
Kareena Kapoor was known for her bold performances in films like Fida, Omkara, and Kurbaan. She was once hailed as one of Bollywood’s hottest actresses. However, after 2010, she made a conscious decision to avoid such scenes in her films.
