Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker faced severe online trolling after a photo of her in a simple salwar suit without makeup went viral. Reacting on social media Swara shared post-wedding photos including her in stylish outfits and sarcastically addressed critics.
She wrote that her wardrobe choices post-marriage had bizarrely become a topic of debate and mocked those criticizing her husband, Fahad Ahmad for not fitting a conservative Muslim stereotype.
Swara also responded to backlash over meeting Maulana Sajjad Nomani a controversial figure known for opposing women’s education without supervision. Critics accused her of hypocrisy questioning how she could advocate feminism and women’s empowerment while associating with Nomani. Swara dismissed the trolls humorously providing them "fodder" to continue their criticism. Despite the negativity, she maintained her defiant stance addressing her detractors with wit and sarcasm.
