Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui has bought a new house in Mumbai’s Wadala area. The luxurious property, in the under-construction Lodha Aura building, was purchased for Rs 6.09 crore and offers 3 and 4 BHK apartments.
Munawar's unit spans 1767 sq ft and comes with three parking spaces. He paid a stamp duty of Rs 36.6 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 30,000. It’s unclear if he will move in with his wife Mehzabeen whom he married in May 2024.
Munawar gained fame through his stand-up comedy but faced backlash for controversial jokes including a 2021 incident where he was jailed for allegedly mocking Lord Ram. He has faced online trolling and show cancellations. After winning the reality show Lock Upp he won Bigg Boss 17 in January 2024. He recently announced his acting debut with the film First Copy on Instagram and appeared as a guest on the finale of Splitsvilla X5.
