Sonali Bendre On The Death Of Her Fan

Reports have surfaced off late in social media claiming that a man committed suicide in the 1990s because he was unable to meet actor Sonali Bendre during her visit to Bhopal. 

In an interview Sonali Bendre expressed shock at these reports questioning about the details of that fan.

She reacted by asking "Is it true? How can someone...?" and reflected on her experiences with fan mail which sometimes contained blood.

This deeply disturbed her and she shared the importance of not idolizing individuals to such an extreme extent.

She said that she was not well aware of such fan-death in the past for failing to meet her. 

Bendre discussed her thoughts on fan culture expressing her inability to understand such obsession.

She said that placing people on pedestals is problematic because they are bound to fall eventually.

Bendre also shared that she could never idolize someone to such an extent mentioning her disbelief at the lengths some fans go to for celebrities.
