Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who received widespread acclaim for her role in the web series Citadel: Honey Bunny alongside Varun Dhawan, recently shared her experiences dealing with social media trolls after her divorce from actor Naga Chaitanya.
In a candid conversation, Samantha revealed the hurtful comments she faced post-divorce, where people labeled her as "second-hand" and "used."
"Why is society so unfair? When a marriage ends, why is it always the woman who is blamed? People called me names without understanding the pain such words cause. Thankfully, my family and friends stood by me during this tough time," she said.
Marriage and Divorce with Naga Chaitanya
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya tied the knot in 2017 after years of dating. However, the marriage ended in 2021 due to irreconcilable differences. Since the separation, Samantha has focused on her career, with a growing presence in Bollywood and OTT platforms.
On the other hand, Naga Chaitanya is reportedly set to marry actress Sobhita Dhulipala on December 4, 2024.
Samantha's Reaction to Personal Life Rumors
Samantha dismissed rumors about redesigning her wedding gown out of anger after the divorce.
"I didn’t do it out of anger or revenge. I felt sad while doing it, but sometimes you have to let go of things to start anew," she explained.
Overcoming Health Challenges
The actress also opened up about battling myositis, which temporarily kept her away from acting. She even considered stepping away from Citadel: Honey Bunny and suggested replacing her with actresses like Kiara Advani or Kriti Sanon. However, the directors, Raj and DK, waited for her recovery, allowing her to deliver a powerful performance in the series.
Samantha's resilience and determination continue to inspire her fans, as she gracefully navigates her personal and professional challenges.
