Salman Khan has been repeatedly targeted by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang due to his alleged involvement in hunting a blackbuck, an animal sacred to the Bishnoi community.
One accused revealed that Khan was on the gang's hit list but was hard to approach due to tight security. Earlier this year, gunmen linked to the gang fired outside Khan's Bandra home. Additionally, the actor has received multiple threats, including demands for Rs 5 crore and Rs 2 crore in ransom.
These threats have come from various sources, including a man claiming to be Bishnoi’s brother and a vegetable seller from Jamshedpur. Mumbai police also arrested a 20-year-old from Noida for a threatening call.
Following these incidents, Salman Khan has been provided Y+ security. Advanced measures, such as AI-enabled high-resolution CCTV cameras with facial recognition, have also been installed around his residence to ensure his safety.
