Rs 1.1 Cr For Using Mobile Number In 'Amaran'

A Chennai engineering student, VV Vaageesan, is suing the producers of Amaran for Rs 1.1 crore after his phone number was shown in the film, sparking constant calls from Sai Pallavi’s fans. In a romantic scene, Sai’s character shares her “mobile number,” which in reality is Vaageesan’s.

Linked to his Aadhar and bank details, the number is difficult to change. The issue came to light after the film's October 31 release when Vaageesan, bombarded with calls, discovered his number was used. He claims the interruptions have disrupted his sleep, studies, and daily life. Despite social media appeals to the director and actors, no action was taken.

This is not the first such incident. Similar cases arose with Nagarjuna films Shivamani (2003) and Hello (2018). Amaran, produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films, tells the story of Major Mukund, an Ashoka Chakra awardee, and is based on India's Most Fearless.
