Actress Rashmika Mandanna will return as Srivalli, the wife of Pushpa Raj, in Sukumar's "Pushpa 2: The Rule," the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster "Pushpa: The Rise," starring Allu Arjun.
In an interview with Lifestyle Asia India, she discussed the character's development from the first film.
Rashmika found portraying Srivalli in 'Pushpa' both challenging and enjoyable due to the spontaneity it required.
She expressed her initial uncertainty about the character and the film likening each day on set to exploring a playground.
But in "Pushpa 2: The Rule," Rashmika feels more acquainted with Srivalli and her environment. While she couldn't reveal many details she described her character in the sequel as "super sorted" and "well composed" indicating a deeper understanding of her role and the story's context.
When probed in she didn't share much but revealed that it would be "Srivalli 2.0", indicating a more powerful and strong character.
In "Pushpa" Rashmika portrays Srivalli, a village girl who initially rejects Pushpa Raj's advances but eventually falls for him.
The film's narrative unfolds with Pushpa rescuing Srivalli from a dangerous situation leading to confrontations with villains.
The makers of "Pushpa" unveiled Rashmika's first look as Srivalli for "Pushpa 2: The Rule," featuring her adorned in traditional attire. Besides, a teaser released on Allu Arjun's birthday hinted at the film's thematic elements.
Besides "Pushpa 2," Rashmika has upcoming projects in Hindi and Telugu cinema, including "Chhava," "Rainbow," and "The Girlfriend."
