Actor Rajat Kapoor is preparing for the release of his new show Tanaav Season 2 an adaptation of the Israeli series Fauda. Recently Kapoor discussed his previous comments about digital platforms claiming to be saviors for actors.
He acknowledged that this is a great time for actors with many opportunities on digital platforms noting that roles and opportunities available now did not exist 7-8 years ago.
He cited examples like Jaideep Ahlawat in Paatal Lok and Pratik Gandhi in Scam who gained recognition through digital media.
However Kapoor also criticized the power of OTT platforms stating that if they do not approve of a project it might never get released which has negatively impacted independent films. He emphasized that OTT platforms currently control much of the content distribution which is concerning.
Tanaav Season 2 features a diverse cast including Manav Vij, Arbaaz Khan, and others and is directed by Sudhir Mishra and E. Niwas releasing on SonyLIV on September 6.
