Filmmaker SS Rajamouli has found himself in controversy after Srinivasa Rao, claiming to be his longtime friend, accused him of ruining his life. In a viral selfie-video and letter, Rao alleged that their 34-year friendship soured when they developed feelings for the same person. He blamed Rajamouli for his single status at 55 and stated he had no choice but to contemplate suicide.
Rao further claimed that after stepping back from the relationship for friendship’s sake, Rajamouli turned against him, sabotaging his career post-Yamadonga (2007). He accused the filmmaker of harassment and even demanded a lie detector test, alleging Rajamouli used black magic against industry rivals. Seeking justice, he appealed to the police for an investigation.
SS Rajamouli and his team have not yet responded. Meanwhile, the director is busy filming SSMB29 with Mahesh Babu, with speculation that Priyanka Chopra might be part of the cast.
