We often hear about film flops, and it's a common occurrence. A flop is generally defined based on the financial loss, which is the negative difference between the investment and the recovery.
We are familiar with small films that come with modest investments and vanish without a trace at the box office.
Similarly, we know of big-budget films made with tens or hundreds of crores of rupees that still end up being utter flops.
However, even in the worst-case scenario, the collection wouldn't be shockingly miserable. Typically, any utter flop or disaster would still manage to collect at least 1%-5% of the investment.
But if anyone asks about the biggest flop in the history of Bollywood, the probable answer would be the latest one released last year in 2023 titled 'The Lady Killer'.
The film was made with a whopping budget of Rs 45 crore but could only gross Rs 8000 on its first day of release in India, selling only 293 tickets.
Throughout its entire run, it didn't even cross the Rs 50,000 mark, according to trade reports. This film starred Arjun Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles and was directed by Ajay Bahl.
The film is set to be released on Netflix, but so far, it hasn't seen the light of day.
