Casting couch controversies in the film industry have been making headlines for years. Bollywood actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has now spoken up, alleging direct casting couch propositions from certain South Indian producers, particularly from the Telugu film industry.
Revealing her experience, she shared, "During a visit to Hyderabad, I met a producer who openly proposed casting couch offers. He told me I needed to meet and spend time with certain people. While they indirectly ask you to meet them at night, their intentions are very clear through their words and actions."
Fatima further revealed that a producer in Hyderabad had blatantly asked her to meet privately, leaving her shocked. She mentioned declining another offer for the same reasons.
"A casting agent from Hyderabad once called me, asking if I was willing to do 'anything' for a role. I replied that I was ready to do whatever it took as an actor. However, he pushed further, and I continued the conversation just to see how low he could stoop," she shared.
The actress disclosed that she turned down two offers from the South Indian film industry due to these casting couch demands. Fatima stated, "In the South, they directly ask if you'll come at night," shedding light on the issue once again.
