Kannada actress Pavithra Gowda, 33, was released from Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison on Tuesday after securing bail in the fan murder case.
Following her release, she visited the Vajra Muneshwara temple in Talaghattapura to perform special prayers for actor Darshan.
Accompanied by her family, Pavithra offered an archane in Darshan’s name, dressed in white with sacred ash on her forehead. She circumambulated the temple, performed rituals, and turned emotional while praying. Her mother, Bhagyamma, coordinated the puja, requesting the priest to offer prayers for Darshan.
The family also followed a traditional ritual of breaking an ash gourd to ward off evil spirits. Earlier, Pavithra had prayed at a temple near the prison.
Pavithra’s prayers are likely to stir debate, given her history of spats with Darshan’s wife, Vijayalaxmi, on social media. The fan murder case stemmed from such disputes, with victim Renukaswamy supporting Vijayalaxmi before his death.
