Nivin Pauly Charged with Sexual Assault in Dubai

Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly has been accused of sexually assaulting an actress under the pretense of offering her a film role with the incident reportedly occurring in Dubai in November.

The actress filed a complaint against six individuals involved in the alleged abuse. The case registered by Oonnukal police will be handed over to a Special Investigation Team (SIT). 

This is part of a broader scandal in the Malayalam film industry which has been rocked by sexual harassment allegations. Following the release of the Hema Commission report on August 19 FIRs were filed against nine film personalities, including Mukesh, Siddique and director Ranjith.

These developments have led to resignations with Ranjith stepping down as chairman of the Chalachitra Academy and calls for Mukesh to resign as Kollam MLA. The scandal has sparked widespread outrage shedding light on ongoing issues of exploitation in the industry.
