Kantara Chapter 1, a prequel to the hit film Kantara is set to release on October 2, 2025 aligning with Gandhi Jayanti. The film will be available in seven languages: Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali and English, ensuring a global reach. This prequel will explore the origins of the folklore-inspired story and the mystical elements that made the original film a success.

Rishab Shetty returns as both the director and lead actor with the film produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner. Known for their previous hits like KGF the production team promises a high-quality cinematic experience blending advanced technology with cultural authenticity.
