Nearly three months after Saif Ali Khan was stabbed during an attempted burglary, Mumbai Police have filed a detailed 1000-page chargesheet against the accused, Shariful Islam. The document contains forensic evidence, including three recovered knife fragments — all confirmed to be from the same weapon — as well as the accused's fingerprints found at the scene.
The report outlines chilling details of the attack: Shariful, armed with a knife, hacksaw blade, and hammer, attempted entry through the main gate but was stopped by a fingerprint system. He then used a duct to climb to Saif’s 8th-floor flat, where he stabbed the caretaker and demanded Rs 1 crore. Saif intervened and was injured during the struggle.
The chargesheet includes statements from over 70 witnesses, including Saif, Kareena, and their staff. After fleeing, the accused changed clothes, discarded the weapon, and returned to Worli, where he was later apprehended.
