Actress Nayanthara has finally responded after her documentary became a topic of controversy due to issues with producer Dhanush. Nayanthara had sought permission from Dhanush to use some scenes from the film Nenu Rowdy Ne in her documentary, but he refused. Later, Dhanush filed a lawsuit against her for using unauthorized making videos and stills from the film in the documentary trailer.
In a public letter, Nayanthara expressed her frustration, clarifying that she did not ask for clips but only requested permission to use four lines written by director Vignesh Shivan in the movie. According to Nayanthara, these lines are a representation of their lives, love, and children, which is why she wanted to include them in the documentary.
She further added, "I never call anyone for help, but I called Dhanush. I thought he would surely agree, as there is no animosity between us. We were never enemies by birth. But things didn't go as I expected."
Regarding the use of working stills and videos, Nayanthara mentioned that such materials were often considered the producer's property, but agreements for such usage were not common ten years ago. She explained, "Back then, photos and videos were taken by many, and they were used in magazines. We did the same, using videos taken on our phones."
Nayanthara also expressed confusion over where her relationship with Dhanush went wrong. She mentioned that she had called him several times to understand the issue, but he did not respond. She concluded by stating that if the issue was clarified, she was ready to resolve it.
