Nayanthara On Dating With Prabhudeva

Nayanthara, revered as the 'Lady Superstar' in South Indian cinema, revealed her reasons for quitting films in 2011, following advice from her then-partner, Prabhudeva. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she shared her younger self's belief that love required compromise, shaped by observing relationships within the film industry. Nayanthara felt sacrificing her career was necessary for love, explaining, "I thought if your partner dislikes something, you should just sacrifice. That was my understanding of love at the time."

Reflecting on that challenging phase, she credited the relationship for fostering her resilience and personal growth, saying it made her the strong individual she is today. Nayanthara later made a triumphant return to cinema, reclaiming her iconic status.

She eventually found lasting love with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, whom she met on the sets of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. After dating for eight years, they married in June 2022.
