Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan’s lavish 2022 wedding held at the Sheraton Grand Chennai Resort was planned in just 10 days after their initial venue, Tirupati temple became unfeasible due to logistical issues. Organized by the Shaadi Squad known for celebrity weddings like Virat-Anushka and Priyanka-Nick, the event saw 7,000 workers and tight security ensuring perfection.
Nayanthara, born a Christian converted to Hinduism in 2011 and opted for a Hindu wedding with an English touch. She wore a custom red saree featuring her and Vignesh’s names avoiding traditional Kanjeevaram styles she’d often donned in films. Despite skipping pre-wedding festivities she held an impromptu mehendi ceremony on family demand.
Prominent guests included Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan and Mani Ratnam. Post-wedding, the couple visited Tirupati for blessings. Now parents to twin sons via surrogacy Nayanthara shared how planning left her emotional, yet fulfilled on her special day.
