National Awards: Rishab Shetty Bags Best Actor For 'Kantara'

At the 70th National Film Awards, Rishab Shetty won Best Actor for his performance in the hit film Kantara. The awards, announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in New Delhi, also recognized Nithya Menen and Manasi Parekh as Best Actress winners. 

Nithya Menen earned the award for her role in the Tamil film Thiruchitrambalam, while Parekh was honored for her performance in the Gujarati film Kutch Express. 

Kantara, set in the fictional village of Dakshina Kannada, features Shetty as a Kambala champion facing a Forest Range officer. The film also won the award for 'Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.' The film also has set a box office record as the low budget films that collected a gross of more than Rs 400 Cr.
