After the failure of Adipurush, Prabhas is now celebrating the success of Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin.
Released last month, the film has broken several box office records.
Some believe Ashwin criticized Adipurush’s promotional tactics, saying, "I won’t ask theatre owners to leave one seat for Ashwatthama for promotions, my content will speak for itself."
Adipurush’s strategy of leaving one seat for Hanuman didn’t help its performance.
Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, has earned Rs 700 crore worldwide in its first week.
Nag Ashwin praised Prabhas on social media, calling him the biggest box office star of this era and crediting him for the film’s success.
The film inspired by the Mahabharat is set in a dystopian future and follows four main characters- Sumathi (Deepika Padukone) who carries the 10th avatar of Vishnu; Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) tasked with protecting the child; Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan), the villain; and Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter.
