Kannada actor Darshan, who was arrested in the murder case of his fan Renukaswamy, has finally received relief as the Karnataka High Court granted him regular bail today.
Darshan was already out on interim bail, which was granted for six weeks to undergo spinal surgery. Now, this interim bail has been converted into regular bail by the court.
Not only Darshan but also his friend Pavitra Gowda and five other co-accused in the case have been granted bail. After spending six months in custody, all of them are now out on bail.
Renukaswamy was murdered on June 9, and Darshan was arrested on June 11. The police gathered strong evidence linking Darshan to the crime and subsequently filed a 3991-page charge sheet in September. Three weeks later, a supplementary charge sheet was also submitted to the court.
During his time in custody, Darshan was moved from Parappana Agrahara Jail to Ballari Central Jail. He later suffered from severe back pain, prompting doctors to recommend surgery. The court permitted the treatment, and today, he has been granted regular bail.
