Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna, known for his roles in Mahabharat and Shaktimaan, criticised comedian Kapil Sharma and his show for its "obscene" content and lack of courtesy.
Speaking on Siddharth Kannan's podcast, Khanna explained his reasons for refusing to appear on the show, even though he was never formally invited. He believed the show's humor often included indecent, double-meaning jokes, which he found disrespectful.
Khanna shared an incident where Kapil joked about actor Arun Govil's undergarments in a promo, which Khanna found deeply offensive. He said such humor lacked decency and respect for senior actors. Furthermore, Khanna recalled being ignored by Kapil at an award event, where he wasn’t greeted despite sitting beside him for ten minutes.
This lack of basic manners added to Khanna's disapproval of the comedian and his show, which he views as promoting inappropriate humor over respectful entertainment.
