Mrunal Says Her 'Lucky' Tag Is Temporary

Mrunal Says Her 'Lucky' Tag Is Temporary

In a press event held in Hyderabad, actors Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur enthusiastically promoted their upcoming movie, 'Family Star' directed by Parasuram Petla.

Scheduled for release on April 5 this family oriented film promises to captivate audiences with its heartwarming storyline.

Since her debut in Telugu cinema with the 2022 film 'Sita Ramam' directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Mrunal Thakur has often been hailed as 'lucky.'

This perception gained further traction following her role in Souryuv's "Hi Nanna," a hit film from the previous year.

However, Mrunal took the opportunity during the press event to dispel this notion, expressing her discomfort with being labeled as 'lucky'.

When asked about her feelings regarding being called lucky, Mrunal responded, "That word feels temporary to me, and I don't like it. Acting in films is more than just a job; it's my passion. I only want to take on roles that allow me to truly embody them. As a child, I dreamed of being a princess. When I got the role in 'Sita Ramam,' it felt like I had been preparing for it my entire life."

She also emphasized that while she has received offers in Telugu cinema, she is selective about roles where her character plays a pivotal role. "I will only accept stories that resonate with me. I want to be known for my characters rather than just as Mrunal. I want my work to speak for itself. If my character isn't essential to the film, then I won't accept the role. I agreed to portray Sita, Yashna (in 'Hi Nanna'), and Indu (in 'Family Star') because these films wouldn't be complete without them," she added.
