Sanoj Mishra cast Monalisa as the heroine in his film The Diary of Manipur. He brought her to Mumbai, put her up in a flat, and began doing photoshoots with various makeup styles and outfits. Recently, he even took her to a five-star hotel.

Thus, Monalisa is receiving a remuneration of 21 lakhs for her very first movie. However, the project has already begun to face criticism. Producer Jitendra has raised concerns, claiming that the movie might stop before even having an opening.

Jitendra accused Sanoj Mishra of being an alcoholic, stating that he has a habit of bringing girls to Mumbai under the pretense of offering them movie roles and exploiting them. He further pointed out that Sanoj hasn't had a single film release and is using Monalisa's newfound fame to make money, while the movie may never come out.
