Monalisa’s Filmmaker Caught in Rape Case

Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, known for offering a film to viral Maha Kumbh girl Monalisa, was arrested in Delhi on Monday on rape charges. He allegedly assaulted a woman multiple times under the pretense of making her a heroine.

The victim met Mishra on social media in 2020 and was later coerced into meeting him in Jhansi in June 2021. She alleged that Mishra drugged and raped her at a resort, recording obscene videos to blackmail her. He reportedly continued to assault her, promising marriage and film roles.

Mishra gained attention recently for casting Monalisa in The Diary of Manipur and giving her acting lessons. He has directed films like Gandhigiri and Kashi to Kashmir. His arrest raises serious concerns about exploitation in the film industry.
