Actor Chiranjeevi has expressed deep disappointment over the controversial remarks made by Minister Konda Surekha, which targeted members of the film industry. In a strong statement, Chiranjeevi condemned the comments, calling them disgraceful and urging political figures to show greater responsibility.
"I am extremely pained to see the disgraceful remarks made by an honorable woman minister. It is a shame that celebrities and members of the film fraternity become soft targets because they provide instant reach and attention," he said.
Chiranjeevi emphasized that the film industry stands united in opposing such vicious verbal assaults. "No one should stoop to this level for scoring political points by dragging unconnected people, especially women, into their political battles and making distasteful fictional allegations."
He further added, "We choose our leaders to make society a better place to live in, not to contaminate it by lowering the discourse. Politicians and people in honorable positions should set better examples."
Chiranjeevi concluded by expressing hope that the concerned minister will retract her remarks and make amends, ending his statement with the hashtag #FilmIndustryWillNotTolerate.
The minister's comments have sparked significant backlash within the film industry, with many calling for a more respectful and responsible dialogue from public officials.
